I'm putting this in the self-help category because this is me helping myself but really, as far as I can tell, there's not much in it for you.
Whatever.
I have a question. When I actually pay attention, or even if I'm not paying attention but it's not too noisy (and I phrase it that way because it doesn't have to be particularly quiet), I can hear, well, not my actual heartbeat, but the whoosh of the blood in my ear. Kind of how it sounds to listen to a heartbeat on a fetal monitor only much quieter.
Is this too Edgar Allan Poe for you guys? It's not like I'm admitting that I hear voices or the heartbeat comes from under the floorboards or anything. I can just hear my blood pumping a lot of the time. But only on my right side (your left if you're looking at me).
Seriously. Am I the only one?

I hear mine too, often.

I don't, but I also live in New York, and have music playing loudly. All the time. If I can hear my own thoughts past the traffic, sirens, and blaring music, it's a miracle.

I do now, but it's only been during pregnancy that I've noticed it. You'll have to remind me to try it after Zoe is born...

This started with me during pregnancy when I was very hypertensive. But yes, at night when there are no other distraction or right now as I think of o it I can hear it too. :)

No, but my mind is generally racing whenever I have a moment of peace. The last thing I ever pay attention to is my own body, unless it's screaming at me for some reason. I hear, FEED ME, MEDICATE ME, STRETCH ME, REST ME, SIT DOWN ALREADY, GET UP ALREADY, but not the blood flowing in my ears. It needs to get way louder to get my attention.

J, Equipoise, & Nat, do you think this means we have high blood pressure?
Bookgirl, the next time you're in San Diego, lying by the pool on a quiet Sunday morning, you'll have to check. How about next week?
Diosa, your body sounds suspiciously like Secret Lulu, by which I mean bossy.

Nope, my bp is totally normal. I do however have major thyroid dysfunction---but then again, that kind of goes hand in hand with having most of it surgically removed *shrug*.

J, I'm sorry to hear about your thyroid. I hope you, at the very least, got some very good drugs to make you feel better after surgery.

I think it just means your a really good listener....
Seriously though, I can hear mine, especially if I try. Open yours eyes really wide and see if that makes a difference.
