You've all been there: It's 2:46 in the morning and you're stumbling through the front door. Obviously you've knocked back a few and hopefully got home via cab or sober friend. But, you still think the night is young and the last thing you want to do is sleep. So you slip into something comfortable and kick off the heels. Then, ladies and gentlemen, it's time to play every inebriated person's favorite game: Drunk DJ. So, I'm begging you....
What do you song do you play as your Drunk DJ track?
I guess for me it's Adam Tensta's "My Cool."
I affectionately refer to it as my "get drunk and dance" song. You know, that song that just makes you feel invincible and makes your rush out to the dancefloor. This bro hails Stockholm, Sweden where it makes lots of weather. Wikipedia tells me he was raised by a single mother who broke ties with his heroin addicted father. Apparently, this Swede had a rough life and like most young rappers, turned to music to avoid delinquency. Regardless, I would like to thank Adam Tensta for providing me pleasure while drunk and not in my right state of mind. Nonetheless, I'd let his music have his way with me while I was sober too.
I am likely to go with Gold Digga or Sexy Back nowadays. But there was a time when I was straight "No Diggity" or, in a more melancholy mood, "Crimson & Clover."

That's a sweet tune! Like. That's going on the Dance Party playlist.
I guess one of my faves for drunk dancing these days is "Move Shake Drop" by DJ Laz and Flo Rida. Like Polly, "No Diggity" was a long-time favorite, as was "Butterfly."

I find that I vary in my choices, ranging from Flogging Molly to Arch Enemy to Broadway musicals. Lately I've been I've been going through an classic rock phase, for example Aerosmith, although if I had to pick a dance track, I have to go with Madonna's Like a Prayer and Like a Virgin. Except that last time I was drinking, I had the looney toons theme stuck in my head. Bizarre.

In my drinking days it would either be Rusted Root, JT...that is James Taylor for our younger crowd, or I would crank up Queen. Nothing like a little Radio Ga-Ga to get your heart pumping more alcohol enriched blood.

Groove is in the heart. I don't have many drunk dance nights these days.

I'm really loyal to my country radio roots when Im wasted.... sad but true. Happened last night, even.

@Polly and Dol, I totally heart "No Diggity" and "Gold Digger"
@Teag, i forgot to mention that when my roommate drinks and listens to flogging molly, mysteriously he starts talking in an Irish accent. Poorly, of course.
@Chance, "Bohemian Rhapsody" is on my party playlist. Nothing like a rousing drunk rendition of it to get you going. Also, thanks for the clarification because Justin Timberlake is JT to me.
@Diosa, I'm hounding the Dol for another dance party.
@Alice, I can't bring myself to listen to country. My Honky Tonk phase ended at the ripe age of 5.

Ke$ha is crucial for when alcohol is consumed. Considering almost all of her songs have something to do with alcohol.

Something by Judas Priest ("Breaking the Law," "Hell Bent for Leather," "Turbo Lover," "Diamonds and Rust" - yes, a metal Joan Baez cover) or, if I'm feeling maudlin, something by Merle Haggard ("Tonight the Bottle Let Me Down," "From Now on All My Friends Are Gonna Be Strangers," "Misery and Gin"). Oddly, this is also a good representation of the music I listen to on the way to work.

Keshia makes me cringe. Visibly. I can't even control it. She's the musical equivalent of nails on a chalkboard for me.
And since my musical tastes never really matured beyond college, my all-time favorite drinking songs will forever be Let Me Clear My Throat and Too Close.

I mistakenly thought that teag bag was chance when I read the comment. I suggest everyone else go back and reread that comment as though it were written by chance. It is hilarious.
